Gugus Gema
Volcanic Winds Asia is based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and has an office and on-site accomodation located in downtown Yogyakarta. With extensive networks through Indonesia and SE Asia, Volcanic Winds Asia is project managed by Stufani, Wukir Suraydi and Rully Shabara, with the capacity to host residencies, presentations and curated shows.
Currently Volcanic Winds Asia’s research project, Gugus Gema is funded by the Ford Foundation, New York. This project is examining traditional Asian music practices for contemporary presentation with a specific focus on womens roles in the preservation and continuation of these traditions.
